Whole Cloves on Yellow macro photograph. Whole cloves are an aromatic natural spice and flavoring used for cooking. They are dried buds off the flowers from the tree Syzygium aromaticum. Clove oil is known for its medicinal properties. It has antioxidant, hepatoprotective, anti-microbial, and anti-inflammatory properties. In a pinch, cloves can ease toothaches. With all the health benefits cloves are a staple in my kitchen I don’t go without. One of my favored desserts baklava would not be the same without cloves.

So much interest in spices, especially when you get up close as in this macro. I like the way the head is emerging from the sepals.

Used them a lot but never looked closer or appreciated the texture. I love yellow background as well.
